LET OUR NUMBERS TELL THE STORY

7.5 Million

meals distributed in the past 12 months through our network

1.03 Million

pounds of kibble donated and fed to Colorado pets

388,000

cans of pet food were given across the state at our 100+ locations

125,000

38,000

As need skyrockets across colorado,
our goal is to keep families TOGETHER.

When the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Benefits (SNAP) were delayed, and government operations were paused, need almost doubled overnight. We were able to respond quickly and stand ready to help as pet families encountered challenging times.

On November 3rd, we arrived early to prepare for a predicted surge in need at the Weld Food Bank pet food pantry in Greeley, CO. By 7 AM, the line of cars already wrapped around the parking lot.

Families were facing furloughs, rising costs of living and delays in SNAP benefits and looming holiday expenses. Human food pantries were overwhelmed. Many families simply could not afford pet food.

Even as SNAP restarts, this trend continues across Colorado. With fewer resources in sight, requests for pet food are at an all-time high. Families are struggling—and turning to us for help.

we are 99% volunteer

Colorado Pet Pantry is powered almost entirely by volunteers.

More than 1,400 people give their time and heart to this mission.

In the past 12 months, these dedicated individuals have donated:

* 25,992 hours of service
* Equal to $1,006,930 in contributed labor
($38.74 per hour in Colorado via Independent Sector in 2025)

From prepping pet food and supplies for pantries to transporting donations, our volunteers support every aspect of our work and make
our mission possible.

“I am passionate about the work
Colorado Pet Pantry does because they directly contribute to better outcomes for people and pets.

Their mission fills a void that is so desperately needed as a safety net to keep pets out of overcrowded shelters and with the families who love them.

In addition, they are able to distribute perfectly good pet food that would otherwise end up in landfills.

My hope is that others learn about Colorado Pet Pantry’s mission and join us to support pets and people when they need it most.”
~ Colorado Pet Pantry Ambassador Volunteer, Katy
