What is the Animal Welfare Share Program?
Colorado Pet Pantry has become a hub for everything pet-related. From dog harnesses to gently used pet beds, people want to donate, and we are happy to accept various pet supplies, in addition to pet food.
In 2017, we founded the Animal Welfare Share Program, based out of our Englewood Warehouse. Over the past several years, this program has become a centrally located supply swap for more than 100 different animal rescues and nonprofit organizations throughout the state.
The goal of the Animal Welfare Share Program is to help participating nonprofit organizations save money on crucial supplies while increasing efficiency in the use of items donated by the community.
Colorado Pet Pantry volunteers and staff sort and inventory all items at the warehouse.

How can I support this program?
This program is free for organizations to support and access. Colorado Pet Pantry pays rent for the space; transport of food and supplies; staff time for sorting; and staff time for coordination of volunteers who pickup these supplies. The best way to support this program is through a donation to Colorado Pet Pantry.

Who uses this program?
It began with Animal Rescue Organizations, but has grown to include Animal Control Offices, Police Stations, Law Enforcement Agencies, and the American Red Cross. If you have an ongoing or crucial need for animal-related supplies, and meet the requirements, you are welcome to join this program.

What are the requirements?
The Animal Welfare Share Program is available to:
- “Non-Failed” PACFA-licensed** animal rescues/shelters that:
- Have had their PACFA license for more than one year
- Have their 501c3 nonprofit status
- Ensure pets are spayed/neutered with very few exceptions
- Other nonprofit organizations that help people with pets (such as the American Red Cross, the Crisis Center, Docs on the Block, Spay Today, and Volunteers for America)
- More requirements are detailed on the application
**Non-failed PACFA-license refers to the “Last Inspection Outcome” on the “Last Inspection Date”. If the organization failed, then it will need to reapply once it has passed.

Can my organization join? What’s the process?
All new partners will be reviewed and approved/denied by a panel.
Once approved, new partners must attend a one-hour orientation before tapping into the program.
The Animal Welfare Share Program reserves the right to remove Partners from the Program if the above requirements are not consistently met.
The application is on Google Forms. You’ll need a Google account, and you can easily create one with your work/personal email when you start to work on your application.
