Hi Everyone!
We’ve got a few summer updates to share, including a closer look at one of the key volunteer roles every pet food pantry needs to operate.
When most people think about volunteering with Colorado Pet Pantry, they picture helping distribute pet food to families. While that’s one of our most common ways to get involved, it’s not the only one.
Every pet food pantry also relies on trained database volunteers. These essential team members register new clients, check in returning families, communicate each household’s order to the distribution team, and record what was distributed. Their work keeps every pantry running smoothly while allowing us to accurately track our impact.
This month, we’re shining a spotlight on database lead Dominique Robbins.
Volunteer Spotlight: Dominique Robbins
Dominique Robbins has been volunteering with Colorado Pet Pantry for more than four years and serves in a key database role in Rocky Ford. He also helps at pantries in Pueblo and Trinidad, whenever he can.
After Colorado Pet Pantry Senior Program Manager and Southeast Colorado Program Manager, Manny, invited him to volunteer, Dominique decided to give it a try.
“Once I volunteered, I was hooked! I love my fur babies, and I love meeting other fur babies, so it was a pretty good fit.”
Over the years, Dominique became a trusted member of his pantry team and took on the important role of database volunteer. He describes the role as the “gatekeepers,” helping make sure everyone’s needs can be met while keeping each pet food pantry running smoothly.
Like many of our volunteers, Dominique says it’s the people who keep him coming back.
“I enjoy my fellow volunteers and the bonds and relationships that are formed.”
When he’s not volunteering, Dominique is spending time with his two dogs, Jackson and Milo. Jackson, he says, is “my mini me in dog-form.”
As a Lead Volunteer, Dominique also enjoys helping support his team and making sure everyone is doing their best at every pantry.
Thank you, Dominique, for everything you do for Colorado Pet Pantry!

Fund-a-Fleet: Help Us Spread the Word
You may have heard about our Fund-a-Fleet campaign to replace two aging vans and add a box truck. Reliable vehicles are essential for getting pet food and supplies where they need to go, and expanding our fleet will help us serve even more pets and families across Colorado.
Sharing the campaign with your friends, family, coworkers, or on social media is a huge help. Every share helps us get one step closer to our ambitious $90,000 goal and replace these aging vehicles.
Learn more about Fund Our Fleet here.
Thanks to a generous donor, every gift to Fund-a-Fleet is currently being matched dollar for dollar, up to $30,000, doubling the impact of donations while the match lasts.
We have a busy summer ahead, and we can’t wait to see many of you soon. Thanks for everything you do for Colorado Pet Pantry!
